Feeding the Needy fights hunger through three connected efforts: our Tikia soup kitchens, daily bread distribution, and the Aqiqah programme.
A. Tikia — soup kitchen, hot meals
Cooked meals for the poor, displaced and refugees on a daily and weekly basis, to high nutritional and hygiene standards.
£500 provides 100 hot meals.
- Relieves hunger, protects dignity, and makes people feel cared for.
- Improved mental and physical health.
- Builds a sense of community and solidarity.
B. Daily bread distribution
Fresh bread for poor families every day — critical as bakeries collapse and flour becomes scarce. Distribution is organised around the neediest areas and takes account of large families and widows.
£5 provides one bread bundle.
C. Aqiqah
Donors fulfil their religious obligation while the distributed meat reaches impoverished households.
